TITLE  -  HEART AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The Youth Red Cross club of Velammal Engineering College organized a Heart Health Awareness Programme Date:11.10.2022 Day: Tuesday for the teaching and non-teaching staffs which was held in the Mechanical Seminar Hall of our college. Dr. S R Ramkumar, Senior Consultant, and Cardiologist, Madras Medical Mission, served as the session's resource person and led a very lively and interactive discussion on the illnesses, treatments, and risk factors related to the human heart. The YRC, and VEC launched a heart awareness program to educate faculty members about how to avoid heart problems and how to respond appropriately in the unfortunate event that they arise. As a result, both teaching staff and non-teaching staff felt an overwhelmingly positive response by the end.


    The team started this event in honor of World Heart Day on September 29, which gives everyone a chance to pause and think about how they can best use their hearts for others, the environment, and themselves.    "Every beating heart cares about the fight against cardiovascular disease".

TITLE - OLG AGE HOME VISIT. For the Diwali celebration on October 22, 2022, the YOUTH RED CROSS of VELLAMMAL ENGINEERING COLLEGE organized a visit to the Anbagam old age home in Otteri, Purasaivakam, where the YRC members participated and spent their time with them and with the small fun events to make the old age people happy. With the assistance of Mr. Prashanth, a member of another NGO, we were able to plan the event. There were about 60 patients who could complete their tasks on their own. In this regard, the YRC club aimed to unite our volunteers for this worthwhile cause and to cheer them up by holding small, enjoyable activities like dancing and singing. EYE CAMP

                            TITLE - EYE CAMP The Velammal Engineering College's YOUTH RED CROSS in Surapet, Chennai, organised an EYE CHECKUP CAMP in collaboration with the Dr. Agarwal's Eye Foundation on October 12 and 13, 2022, where volunteers from the YOUTH RED CROSS assisted the students and staff. The best eye care for eye diseases is provided by the 110+ hospitals in India that make up the Dr. Agarwals Eye Foundation. In order to participate in this initiative, five eye specialists from the Dr. Agarwal's Eye Foundation teamed up with YOUTH RED CROSS. Each student's eye was examined using cutting-edge equipment, and recommendations were made based on eye power.  The Foundation delivered cutting-edge equipment that showed precise and accurate results.
